An tenth successive La Liga win for Barcelona heaped more pressure on leaders Real Madrid last night, with Pep Guardiola’s side sailing past Getafe.

The Catalans were in charge from start to finish and superb strikes from Alexis Sánchez and Lionel Messi (61 goals this season) had them two ahead at the break. Getafe never hinted at a comeback and headers from Sánchez and Pedro Rodríguez rounded off the scoring.

The result leaves Barca just one point behind Madrid, before José Mourinho’s side visit city rivals Atlético tonight.
