Fans flocking to the Camp Nou tonight to watch Barcelona in action against Granada could see history being made as Lionel Messi now just needs one goal to equal the club’s official scoring record after Cesar Rodriguez’s total was revised to 232 from 235.

A study conducted by Barcelona’s  Centre of Documentation and Studies along with La Vanguardia newspaper to verify Rodriguez’s tally from the 1950s showed he had scored three less than previously thought.

It means Messi, who has scored 51 goals in all competitions this season, can now usurp Rodriquez with a brace in his side’s La Liga clash with Granada.
