Spurs back to winning ways, City slip again

Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice as Tottenham toppled Swansea to register their first league win in seven weeks and heap the pressure back on Arsenal in the race for third. Spurs eventuall won 3-1 against Swansea and with Arsenal going down 2-1 to QPR on Saturday the battle for 3rd looks set to continue right to the end.

Manchester City dropped more points as they came from behind to salvage a 3-3 draw against Sunderland.

Papiss Demba Cisse scored both goals as Newcastle inflicted fresh Premier League misery upon 10-man Liverpool with a 2-0 victory at St James’ Park. The result condemned Liverpool to a sixth defeat in seven league matches and left them in eighth place, one position below Merseyside rivals Everton – and 11 points adrift of Newcastle.

Chelsea continued their form under Di Matteo with a 4-2 win against Villa, Torres again showing he could be nearing his best form.
