Torres takes chance with timely return to form

Fernando Torres took his chance to impress with a goal and excellent all-round performance as Spain defeated South Korea 4-1 in ltheir Euro 2012 warm-up in Berne, Switzerland, on Wednesday night.

Torres, who looked sharp throughout, opened the scoring early with a well placed header, before Korea’s Kim Do-heon fired in an unexpected equaliser just before half-time.

Xabi Alonso’s penalty and Santi Cazorla’s free-kick put the reigning European champions back in control and substitute Alvaro Negredo netted the fourth to stake his own claim for a striking place at the finals.
