Barca and Real edge towards El Classico final

Real Madrid who lost at home to rivals Athletico in the final of the Cup last season got their revenge at the same venue with a convincing 3-0 win ending an unbeaten run of 24 matches for Diego Simeome’s team.
Deflected goals from Pepe, Di Maria and one by Jesse sealed the first leg for Real leaving their rivals a mountain to climb in next weeks return leg.
Barcelona put their home loss to Valencia behind them with a 2-0 win over 10 man Sociedad at the Camp Nou. Sergio Busquets ensured they went in at the half with the lead while an own goal by Gorka Elustondo from a Sanchez shot that deflected off the post gave Barca the initiative.
Barca and Real last played in the final in 2011, a Christiano Ronaldo header giving Real the win.
