Barcelona and Atletico Madrid applied some pressure on Real Madrid after both sides registered league wins on a weekend that Madrid didn’t feature.

Atletico kicked off the weekend with a comfortable 2-0 win over Elche, Miranda and Costa finding the back of the net to send the league leaders 4 points clear of Barcelona at the top of the table.

Barcelona had to come from behind at the Camp Nou with a 2-1 win over Athletico Bibao.

Both teams had their early chances however it was Bibao that broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half when Aduriz calmly slotted the ball past Pinto from a Marc Bartra through ball.

This sparked the Catalan giants into the game, Pedro leveling the score in the 71st minute by redirecting a pass from Sanchez into the back of the net and Messi then netted what turned out to be the winning goal shortly after, slamming home a free kick from the edge of the penalty area to seal the victory and lift Barcelona to 81 points 2 clear of Madrid who have a game in hand.
