The La Liga title race took a twist this weekend as the top 3 all dropped points in a remarkable weekend that provided no definitive answer as to who will ultimately win the title.

On Satuday, Barcelona were held to a 2-2 draw by Getafe, Angel Lafita with a late equaliser for Getafe which at the time looked to have ended Barcelona’s hopes of another La Liga title.

Atletico failed to capitalise on Sunday when the Champions League finalists and La Liga table toppers were stunned by Levante in a 2-0 loss.

Real kicked off last knowing that 3 points and 2 games in hand gave them the initiative however Valencia looked to have denied Carlo Ancelotti’s men until Cristiano Ronaldo scored a late equaliser to give the Madrid giants a share of the points.

Despite Atletico’s loss they remain top of the table on 88 points with Barcelona on 85 however the pair will clash on the final match of the season in what could very well decide the outcome.

Real sit in third, 5 points adrift of Atletico with a game in hand. Carlo Ancelotti’s men will have to win their remaining 3 games and hope their bitter rivals Barcelona beat Atletico on the final day.
