Barcelona, Spain (Sports Network) – Victor Sanchez scored a goal in each half
to extend Espanyol’s unbeaten streak to five games on Monday with a 3-2 home
win against Athletic Bilbao.

Sanchez found the net for the first time midway through the first half when he
collected a loose ball from a corner kick and scored from outside the penalty
area, while Oscar de Marcos knotted things up at 1-1 a few minutes before the
break for Athletic.

Sergio Garcia’s cross in the 49th minute was finished off by Sanchez for his
second goal of the contest, with Garcia finding the net himself 25 minutes
from time.

Ibai Gomez pulled one back for the visitors in stoppage time, but Espanyol saw
out the final few minutes to climb into fifth place.
