Roger Federer continued his revival, making history at Indian Wells, as he became the first man to win the tournament on 4 occasions. In a stunning performance the Swiss maestro tamed the big serve of surprise finalist John Isner 7-6,6-3. Federer has now won 6 of his last ATP Tour events and has a record of 39 wins from 41 matches making him the hottest player on the mens circuit at the moment.

In the ladies draw, world number one Victoria Azarenka clinched her fourth title of the year with a 6-2 6-3 demolition of an error-prone Maria Sharapova in the final. Azarenka has won all 23 matches so far this year and is currently enjoying the best start to a season since 1997 when former world no. 1 Martini Hingis won 37 consecutive matches.
