Roger Federer demolished Novak Djokovic in the final of the Cincinnati Masters 6-0, 7-6 in a one sided affair that saw the Swiss maestro lift the title for the 5th time.

Federer cemented his world number 1 ranking in his semi final win over compatriot Stanislas Wawrinka however this will create some daylight between himself and the Serb following the win and the jackpot of 1000 ranking points coming into the US Open starting in 7 days at Flushing Medows which wont be featuring Rafa Nadal.

Federer has now drawn level with the absent Rafa Nadal on 21 Masters series wins and is one shy of the great John McEnroe on 76 tournament wins.

In the ladies draw, China’s Li Na earned her first title since winning the French Open 15 months ago, beating Germany’s Angelique Kerber 1-6, 6-3, 6-1 to claim the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Masters.
