Animal Kingdom has final 2012 work

Hallandale Beach, FL (Sports Network) – Former Kentucky Derby winner
Animal Kingdom went through his final workout of the year. The colt worked
four-furlongs at the Palm Meadows Training Center near Gulfstream Park.

Trained by Graham Motion, Animal Kingdom covered the half-mile in 54.15
seconds with exercise rider David Nava. The Breeders’ Cup Mile runner-up will
make his first 2013 start in the $300,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap on
Feb. 9. and is scheduled to run in the $10 million Dubai World Cup on March
30.

Earlier this month owner Team Valor sold a majority interest in the breeding
rights of the Eclipse Award winner to Arrowfield Stud of Australia. Plans are
also being made to have Animal Kingdom race in England after the Dubai World
Cup.

The 4-year-old colt has won four of nine career starts with four seconds for
earnings of $2,327,500.
