Reigning Kentucky Derby winning trainer Doug O’Neill will saddle a pair of colts in Saturday’s $100,000 Sham Stakes at Santa Anita Park. Heading the list of six 3-year-olds for the mile stakes is 4-5 morning-line favorite Goldencents.

Winner of the Delta Jackpot, Goldencents will start from post two with Kevin
Krigger again riding while 20-1 stablemate Greeley Awesome will be ridden by
Mario Gutierrez from the next post out. Gutierrez was aboard I’ll Have
Another when the colt won last year’s Run for the Roses and Preakness Stakes.

Goldencents, co-owned by Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino, led the
entire way in winning the $1 million Delta Jackpot on Nov. 17 at Delta Downs
in Louisiana.

“He’s got to stay injury-free but he’s a real exciting prospect,” O’Neill
commented.

The colt posted a 7 1/4-length victory in his career opening start and
followed with a second-place finish in the Champagne Stakes to Shanghai Bobby
who went on to win the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile on Nov. 3. Goldencents has
banked $722,000 from his three starts.

Greeley Awesome is a veteran of seven starts finally breaking his maiden on
Nov. 30 at Hollywood Park.

Here is the complete field for the Sham in post position order: Den’s Legacy,
Garrett Gomez, 3-1; Goldencents, Kevin Krigger, 4-5; Greeley Awesome, Mario
Gutierrez, 20-1; Dry Summer, Joe Talamo, 6-1; Dirty Swagg, Tyler Baze, 12-1
and Manando, Martin Garcia, 3-1.

Post-time for the Sham will be approximately 4:31 p.m. (ET).
