Charleston, SC (Sports Network) – Yueer Cindy Feng and Emma Talley won their
matches on Saturday and advanced to Sunday’s final at the U.S. Women’s Amateur
Championship.

Feng won the first with a par, and never relinquished that lead. She went on
to beat Doris Chen, 3 & 2.

Talley was 4-up through five holes, but coughed up that lead. She parred the
17th to regain a 1-up lead and that was her winning margin over Alison Lee as
the pair matched pars at the last.

Feng, 17, won the first two holes with pars, but she bogeyed the fourth to
trim her lead to 1-up. Chen, 20, tripped to a bogey at the sixth to again dip
to 2-down.

Chen birdied the ninth to again get within one, but Feng won the next two
holes to push her lead to 3-up. The pair halved the next five holes to give
Feng the match.

Talley, 19, and Lee matched pars at the first, then Talley won the next four
holes (three with birdies). Talley stumbled to bogeys at seven and eight as
her lead was cut to 2-up.

She pushed her lead back to 3-up with a birdie on the par-5 ninth. Lee, 18,
won the 14th and 15th with pars before Talley made a mess of the 16th, and
suddenly the pair was all square with two to go.

Lee, the 2012 U.S. Girls Junior runner-up, stumbled to a bogey at the 17th to
drop 1-down. Matching pars at the last gave Talley the victory.
