Connecticut still an undisputed No. 1

New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) – Connecticut remained a unanimous choice as
the top women’s college basketball team in the nation, according to the latest
Associated Press poll.

The Huskies received all 36 first-place votes and 900 points from a nationwide
media panel for the second straight week. UConn improved to 8-0 with four
blowout wins last week.

Duke, Tennessee, Louisville, Notre Dame, Stanford, Kentucky, Maryland, Baylor
and Nebraska round out this week’s top 10. The top nine stayed the same from
last week, while Nebraska moved up one spot into the 10th.

The second 10 consists of North Carolina, Texas A&M, Penn State, Colorado,
LSU, Purdue, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and California. Oklahoma
dropped eight places from 10th after Sunday’s loss at UCLA.

Michigan State, Georgia, Iowa State, Gonzaga and DePaul are the last five
teams ranked. There were no newcomers to this week’s poll.
