Francesca Schiavone had little trouble
in a straight-set win over Lourdes Dominguez Lino to capture the Moroccan
Grand Prix title.

The sixth-seeded Schiavone rolled to a 6-1, 6-3 victory on Sunday for her
sixth career title and first since last May in Strasbourg. The 2010 French
Open champ and 2011 Roland Garros runner-up improved to 6-10 all-time in
finals.

It had been a struggle for Schiavone in 2013, as she entered this week’s event
with a record of just 5-8. The Italian veteran doubled that win total this
week and didn’t lose a set while doing so.

Dominguez Lino, who went three sets in each of her first four matches this
week, was appearing in her fifth career final and fell to 2-3 in title
matches. The Spaniard’s only two wins have come in Bogota — in 2006 and
again 2011.

Schiavone, who claimed a first prize of $40,000, improved to 4-1 lifetime
against Dominguez Lino.
